May 2020 Caring for Different Industries During the Hard Times; Retraining

The "Love Upgrading Special Scheme”course offered by the Employees Retraining Board was halted due to the epidemic, making the unemployed workers lose training allowances and value-added opportunities for a career change. Accordingly, FTU Vocational Training and Employment Acceleration Committee has repeatedly met with the Employees Retraining Board, and has successfully fought for the launch of online courses, as well as the extension of training allowances backdated to December 4 of the previous year.

Since then, HKFTU has also strived to optimize the "Love Upgrading Special Scheme” in its new round of implementation. Course options have greatly increased from 54 to more than 300, and the training allowance has been raised up to HK$5,800.
