HKFTU opened the 6th Mainland Consultation Services Centre at Xiamen on 12th December,2018.
The HKFTU Employment Development Service Centre celebrates its 10th anniversary on 17th , November.
The HKFTU representatives joined the opening ceremony of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Rail Hong Kong Section in 23th September. HKFTU hosted a trip to Guizhou with 1000 participants and volunteers on October.
Super Typhoon Mangkhut attacked Hong Kong on 16th September, which led to a huge disruption. HKFTU urged employers to be lenient with employees, and urged the government to declare an official post-typhoon day-off.
The Hong Kong Federation of Trade Union, The Guangdong Federation of Trade Unions, Macao Federation of Trade Unions held the “1st Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Occupational Skills Competition” in 2018, the Welding Competition was held in August, the Chinese cooking Competition was held in November, the Hair Make-up Competition was held in December.
To celebrate the 68th anniversary of HKFTU Workers' Medical Clinics , we launched the 4th Chinese Medicine Mobile Clinic in October and established the community pharmacy in December.
HKFTU Women Affairs Committee welcomed the Policy address 2018-19 proposed the extension of maternity leave from 10 weeks to 14 weeks, and the paternity leave increased from 3 days to 5 days.
HKFTU 37th Members’ Representatives General Conference was held on 15th ,April. Our new leadership members visited Beijing and received by Vice Premier Han Zheng in September.
HKFTU concerns about the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Our representatives issued proposals and suggestions on NPC and CPPCC in March. Moreover, we have established the “Greater Bay Area Concern Group”, met Mr Patrick Nip Tak-kuen (the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs) and Liao Jingshan (the Director of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Guangdong Province) in July and October, to exchange the idea of the development of the Greater Bay Area.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of HKFTU, we launched a series of activities, including the Kick-off Ceremony, the “70th anniversary Evening Party”, “Free Ferry travelling Day”, etc. We also published our history photo album in October.
